2D animation definition: 2D animation is a combination of artistic technique and media design that creates the illusion of movement in a two-dimensional environment. For example, older Disney movies from around the 80s, back, were 2D animations. The images were flat and the characters had no real form. The artists were able to bring the characters forward by having different layers for the background, middle ground, and foreground to create some depth.

3D animation definition: 3D animtation is the art of using motion to bring characters, vehicles, props, and more to life within TV shows, films, and games. This is created when 3D computer models or objects are rapidlysequenced to crewte the illusion of lifelike motion, as some computer animations. For example, newer Disney movies from around the 90s, forward, are now all pretty much 3D animations.
Disney did actually create two 3D animation short films in 1953 titled 'Adventures in Music: Melody' and 'Working for Peanuts, starring Donald Duck and Chip 'n' Dale.'

Flip Book:
Andymation. "How to MAKE A FLIPBOOK". Online Video Clip. YouTube. YouTube. 20 Jan, 2018. Tues 9 Feb, 2021.
Above is a video showing how to make a flipbook for beginners. This is the tutorial I will be following to make my own flipbook.
I am going to create 2 small flip books, one for practice, and one finished one.
For the practice flipbook, I am going to do a man melting. This is because it is simple, and I was inspired by the snow outside. For my second flipbook, that will have more detail, and maybe colour, I am thinking about doing either a candle burning or a match being struck. I think both of these would be difficult, but not too hard where I struggle. I want to challenge myself just enough so I can create good work, and feel I pushed myself to do the best I can.

Above is a video uploaded to my Youtube channel (that's right, I'm going to be a Youtube Star). Its a short video of the small flipbooks I have created. They're not the best anyone has ever seen, but it was my first time creating a flip book, and I think I did a good job. I didn't add colour because I didn't want to make it worse, or ruin it. I tried to keep it as simple as possible so I didn't get overwhelmed with lots of detail and/or colour. One thing I realised after the flip books where finished is that some of the drawings were done just a little too high on the paper, so the image is cut off just a bit.
I'm actually really happy with how these have turned out and I think they're cute, and pocket sized. For next time I know i will need to use bigger pieces of paper and make sure the image doesn't get cute off when I'm using the book.
For the first book you see, 'Bouncy Ball', I used the left over scraps of paper to create it. I think there were only 12 pieces of paper that were that size and width. For the next flipbook, 'The Dancing Flame', I really wanted to get the movement of fire and just have a cute flipbook, but I accidentally drew the flame a wee bit high in the book, so some of the image gets cut off when you flip it. The last book you see is called 'The Man that Melted', and I am so happy with how this one turned out! I think it's my best one, and it works so well for my first time.
Overall I think I did a great job for it being my first time, and the next time I do this I will make them bigger and more detailed.

The first video is about a mannequin in its own house, just living life, and watching a movie. Then a dinosaur breaks into its house and the mannequin has to try and fight it off/run away. But then it ends up all being inside the mannequins head. I thought this was a great video cause I loved the suspense and the whole idea about a dinosaur breaking in and trying to kill you. I think its been really well done, and I love the ending.
the second video clip is about a mannequin trying to save, who I assume to be its friend, from a giant skeleton. I like this clip because I found it to be original and creative. I love the idea, and I think it was really well done.
The third video is about a mannequin making a journey across an art classroom because a "beautiful", mannequin is on the other side. I found this to be quite funny and amusing, and I thought the idea was brilliant.
I find all of these videos inspiring and I like all of them because they are all very creative and unique. I think its amazing how clean the movement is in these videos, and it clearly took a lot of time and effort.
I don't really have any ideas of what I could do for a stop motion video, not any polished ideas anyways. I want my video to be exciting and fun, and I want it to be original and unique. I know that's going to be hard since stop motion animation has been around for decades, but i still want to come up with a unique idea. I will make a practice animation first, since I have never done this before, then once I get the hang of it, I will then create a more fun and exciting animation. For the practice one, I was thinking maybe judt keep it simple, and do the mannequin running, or or walking, then sitting down.

My Animations:
I did have some troubles with trying to create my stop motion animation since my cat just really wanted to play.
Then when I finally got my cat out the room...
Then when I finally got my cat out the room...
I somehow managed to break the arm off.
So I was unable to use the mannequin for the first stop motion animation, and decided I would Use clay instead. My idea was for a clay man to be built from nothing, and then torn down/squished once it was built. I figured it would be a simple, and easy, idea for my first time.

Above is a video from my Youtube Channel of my stop motion animation.
For my first time doing it, I am very proud of the outcome. However, I didn't realise that hours of work would result into a six second video, but I'm still really happy with it. I took around 100 photos, give or take, and it did take a while. I do think some parts of it could have been smoother, and the model could have been more delicate, but I am still really happy with how it turned out.

For my second stop motion animation, I decided I was going to make another clay man, but this time walking forward and sitting down. I wanted to try this because I knew I would find it difficult with the clay I was using, and it would be difficult to get the movement right. There are some parts that aren't as smooth, and I thought it would look a little better, but I'm still happy with how it looks. There were some parts of the animation that have drastic changes because I may have forgotten to take a photo of the stage before hand, and it just cuts to the bit after it, but I still think it looks good.
For this animation I took around 130 photos, give or take, and then when piecing the animation together, I split it into two parts. the first part was the ball rolling over and forming the base, and I made the speed of the first part 16fps, and then I made the speed on the second part 10fps. This was so that the ball rolling could look as smooth as possible, and go the speed I think a ball would move at. Then the second part was slower because I thought if you were just built, surely you would move quite slow.
Overall, I am happy with how this animation looks and I think it looks great for it being my second time doing it. I also think I have made a huge imporvement from my first animation, since the clay model issmoother, and actually moves, and the animation itself is overall better.
